Dear Madam/ Sir,
It is informed that IOC Certificate Safeguarding Office in Sport course, a first of its kind, international safeguarding officer certificate program that is 7-month long online training course commencing on 1st September 2022.
The course has been developed by an Academic Advisory Board of experts in safeguarding and child protection in sport, and is presented by an international faculty of thought leaders in the field including academics, researchers, experts through lived experience, athletes and practitioners.
The course is conducted in English and aimed at those who have been appointed or will be appointed as safeguarding officers; serve as the focal point for safeguarding issues; or work in the field of sport integrity for national or international sports organisations, particularly National Olympic Committees, International Federations and National Federations.
Composed of 7 learning modules taking place over 7 months, this remote learning course will introduce participants to their crucial role in the prevention of and response to harassment and abuse (non-accidental violence) in sport, including significant contributions to the prioritisation of athlete well-being and safeguarding both within their organisation and at major sporting events.
Students who successfully pass the course, which includes two assignments and a final exam to assess application of theory to practice, will be eligible to graduate with an IOC Certificate: Safeguarding Officer in Sport and become part of an international alumni network of safeguarding officers in sport. A graduation ceremony will be held in Lausanne.
Entry requirements
- Two professional references as per attached requirements
- The language of instruction will be English, and students whose native language is not English should provide evidence of competence in English as per attached requirements
Program Fees
Tuition fees will be payable upon registration for each Program, and cover the following:
- Tuition and supervision for all modules, together with supporting documentation and reading materials
- All costs relating to the marking of assignments and examinations (excluding resits and assignment repeat fees)
- Issue of an original academic transcript and award certificate
- The fees charged for the Certificate program will be reviewed at the beginning of each intake of students and can be expected to rise in line with inflation.
- Annual tuition fees for the program beginning in September 2022 £1,650 (GBP) VAT is chargeable to all UK and EC based students at the current rate of 20%
Foregoing, above it is highly recommended that you may nominate officer(s) from your esteemed office or sports person(s) for the subject course. It is therefore requested to please send the nomination along with following by 15 July 2022:
- Copy of Passport
- Latest Digital Photograph
- Updated CV
- Two professional references
- Evidence of competence in English
- A crossed cheque in favor of Pakistan Olympic Association equal to £1,650 (GBP) in Pak rupees
