KARACHI: Greenwich University were crowned champions after they defeated NED University 55-51 in the final of the Higher Education Commission (HEC) Zone-G Inter-University Basketball Championship which concluded here at the Greenwich University on Tuesday.
It was a tough fight and both sides played aggressively. Raja Zahid, who also emerged as the most valuable player of the tournament, played a key role in Greenwich’s triumph with his tremendous strike rate.
In the semifinals, Greenwich University had defeated Iqra University. NED University had outgunned Karachi University. Head of Corporate Services of Greenwich University Mian Mohammad Afzal graced the closing ceremony and handed over trophies to the leading teams.
Other varsities that took part in the event were Dow University of Health Sciences, Institute of Business Management (IoBM), Dawood College of Engineering and Technology (DCET), Ziauddin Medical University, Institute of Business and Technology, Aga Khan University and PAF Karachi Institute of Economics and Technology.
