KARACHI: Five Pakistan sharp shooters returned here Sunday from Doha (Qatar) after achieving the Minimum Qualifying Scores (MQS) in Asian Clay Shooting Championship.
Abdul Sattar of Pakistan Navy secured the 9th spot in the skeet event with score of 119/125. In trap event, Usman Sadiq finished 10th with score of 110/125. He had already achieved MQS in the previous event.
Ten shooters, including two women, were part of the Pakistan squad. Other shooters who achieved the MQS in same event included double Olympian Khurram Inam (114/125), Muhammad Shahzad of Navy in Free Pistol (542/600), Ayaz Tahir of Navy in Air Rifle (582/600) and Mehwish Khan of Navy in Air Pistol (374/400).
Executive Vice President of National Rifle Association of Pakistan (NRAP) Razi Ahmed Khan told APP on Monday that 14 Pakistan shooters have achieved MQS from different events, including Asian Games in Guangzhou (China) and Commonwealth Games in New Delhi.
He said NRAP would be applying for wild-card entries through Pakistan Olympic Association for London Olympics. Pakistan was awarded one wild-card in Beijing Olympics in 2008
