KARACHI: State Bank, PSO and Allied Engineering were among the teams who won their matches of the men’s team event in the first edition of the PSO-Carient Inter-Firm Table Tennis tournament which kicked off at the Islamia Club on Monday night.
The event was formally opened by the PSO General Manager Marketing Arif Naseeb. In the men’s team event in which 29 teams are featuring, State Bank A beat Asia Petroleum 3-0 while State Life got the better of Pak Suzuki, also 3-0.
PSO B edged out Trans Express 3-0, Allied Engineering B dismantled Pak Mercentile B 3-0, while CDC A and KMC also got off to a fine beginning with easy 3-0 wins over their respective rivals AKD Securities and Wi-Tribe A.
Top seed PSO A whacked PPL B 3-0, Mansha Brothers beat Pak Mercentile B 3-0, while Allied Engineering A and PPL B imposed 3-0 defeats on their respective rivals Wi-Tribe B and Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC). PPL A beat CDC B 3-0, Galaxy Smith Kline (GSK) overpowered Hino Pak B 3-0, while Pak Mercentile outgunned Pak Suzuki, also 3-0.
In other ties, Hino Pak A outwitted Wi-Tribe A 3-0, Mansha Brothers stunned Allied Engineering B 3-0, State Bank A defeated Trans Express 3-0, while Allied Engineering A and PSO B beat their respective opponents AKD Securities and Asia Petroleum |
