KARACHI: Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) will apply for hosting rights of the forthcoming Asian Football Confederation (AFC) President’s Cup to be held in May.
“We are interested in hosting the AFC President’s Cup and will apply for it formally before February 12, which is the last date for submitting bids,” PFF secretary Col Ahmad Yar Khan Lodhi told ‘The News’ on Wednesday. “Hopefully, we will be able to get the hosting rights as we also successfully conducted the event in 2007,” Lodhi said.
Twelve national champions from 12 countries across the continent, including Pakistan, will feature in the competition. Khan Research Laboratories (KRL), which lifted the Premier League title in December last year, will represent Pakistan in the event. |
