KARACHI: Pakistan Under-22 football team will feature in an international tournament to be played in Palestine from May 13-22, a top official of the Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) said on Wednesday.
“We have been invited by Palestine and plan to field our Under-22 team in the international tournament there which will give ample exposure to our boys ahead of the Asian Cup Qualifiers,” he told ‘The News’.
Last year, Palestine had played a two-match series against Pakistan’s Olympic side at Lahore and Karachi. Pakistan were scheduled to tour Palestine for two matches but the Israeli government did not give clearance.
Pakistan coach Zavisa Milosavljevic wants at least five international matches for the national Under-22 team ahead of the Asian Cup Qualifiers. In the Asian Cup Qualifiers for which the venues are yet to be decided, Pakistan have been placed with Saudi Arabia, Palestine, Syria, Sri Lanka and Kyrgyzstan. |
