KARACHI: Tayyab Aslam beat top seed Ali Bokhari 12-10, 11-6, 7-11, 11-6 in the under-19 final of the 4th Roshan Khan Junior Open Squash on Wednesday here at Pakistan Navy Roshan Khan Jahangir Khan Squash Complex.
He received $1000 as prize money, while Ali Bokhari received runner-up prize of $600. In the category of under-17 boys, national number one Safiullah Kakar lost his match to Asim Khan 2- 11-5, 11-13, 11-8, 11-8. The prize money for this category was $500 for the winner and $300 for the runner-up. In under-15 boys category, Ahsan Ayaz overpowered Rishwan 11-6, 11-9, 7-11, 11-7 to receive $250. Ahsan got $150.
In under-19 girls competition, Saadia Gul overcame Samar Anjum 11-8, 11-8, 14-16, 13-11 in the final and earned $600. Samar had to make herself content with $400. Iranian player Aillee Nayeri failed to win her first ever international title as she lost the under-15 final to Sindh’s Madina Zafar 11-2, 11-5, 8-11, 12-10. The winner and the runner-up of this category received $200 and $100, respectively.
