ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Squash Federation (PSF) has lifted bans imposed on national players Aamir Atlas Khan and Yasir Butt. The decision was taken during the 33rd PSF executive committee meeting that was called to discuss ban issue of Aamir and Yasir and the boycott of Punjab and Sindh players of the recently concluded Junior Squash Championship in Peshawar. The meeting was held under the chair of PSF senior vice president Air Vice Marshall Syed Razi Nawab while PSF vice presidents Qamar Zaman and Malik Amjed Ali Noon, secretary general Abdul Wahab Marwat and the representatives of Sindh, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan were also present on the occasion.
Aamir and Yasir were directed to appear before the committee members to explain their point of view on their tendering of apology via email to the PSF president Air Chief Marshall Tahir Rafiq Butt. Both the players accepted their mistake and promised not to repeat such mistakes in future.
On their verbal request, Razi Nawab, with the consent of the PSF president and the approval of the members of the house, accepted the apology of both the players and lifted the ban imposed on them with immediate effect. The meeting also took strong notice of Punjab and Sindh players’ withdrawal from the Peshawar event. The Punjab and Sindh Squash Associations representatives accepted their mistake and promised not to repeat such mistake in future. On their assurance, the house accepted their apology and decided not to take any further action.
