KARACHI: Pakistan’s Aisam-ul-Haq, who is desperately trying to earn points for getting a berth at the London Olympics, is to face a Spanish pair along with his Austrian partner Alexander Peya on Thursday (today) at Rome Masters.
Aisam and Peya, ranked 15th and 19th respectively, were given a bye in the Round 32 of this ATP 1000 tournament, and now they are scheduled to take on Marcel Granollers, ranked 26th, and Marc Lopez, ranked 18th.
They will earn 90 points each if they win. Earlier, the Spanish pair defeated Simone Bolelli and Fabio Fognini of Italy, ranked 52nd and 39th, respectively.
If Aisam and Peya win this match, they will face either the Spanish pair of Nicolas Almagro (ranked 186th) and Pablu Andujar (ranked 109th) or Michael Llodra and Nenad Zimonjic, ranked 5th and 6th, respectively.
