KARACHI: Veteran shooter Captain Mahmood Sultan has hit out at National Rifle Association of Pakistan (NRAP) for delay in naming the shooter who is to represent Pakistan in the London Olympics.
“Pakistan has received a wild card entry in Olympic skeet event for the London Olympics, but even one week after the trials, NRAP is yet to name the shooter,” he said in a statement on Thursday.
“Ahmad Sultan won three out of five trials while two other shooters won one each. Ahmad Sultan also achieved the highest aggregate score,” he claimed. “It’s now over a week and NRAP has not yet declared Ahmad Sultan as Pakistan’s entry for London Olympics,” he said.
“We want to send Ahmad to London for world class coaching immediately on our expenses. But this delay from NRAP is hindering in his training and the opportunity to bring laurels to the country,” the statement said.
