LAHORE, Nov 26: Pakistan will face China in the opening match of the 26th Asian Baseball Championship in Taichung City, Chinese Taipei on Wednesday.
This was stated by Syed Khawar Shah Secretary General Pakistan Federation Baseball while leaving with the national team for Chinese Taipei as manager late on Sunday night.
Khawar says though it is a tough competition, as all the top ranked teams of the Asia are featuring in it, Pakistan team is well prepared under the coaching of a Korean Coach Hwang Dong Hoon, who has been training our boys in Lahore for the last two months.
He says except Philippines all other teams like Japan, Korea, China, and China Taipei are above to Pakistan in ranking and it is a great honour for the country that we are competing in such a high-profile tournament of Asia. He says Pakistan ranked 5th in Asia, which enable the country to compete in this big tournament.
He says in other matches Pakistan will see the Asian top team Japan on Nov 29 and next meeting is against Korea on Nov 30. Pakistan will meet the hosts on Dec 1. In the last match, Pakistan will play against Philippines.
