The 6th Edition of the Children of Asia International Sports Games is in progress at Yakutsk, Sakha Repulic Yakutia, Russia under the patronage of IOC, fully supported by the OCA and dully acknowledged by UNICEF. Pakistan participated in these games with only two shooters and one wrestler. Pakistani shooters named Fatima Aftab and Nubaira Babur showed exceptionally good performance in these games.
The most striking aspect of their performance was that they lead most experienced and famous shooters of Russia, Kazakhstan, Mongolia, Singapore, Iraq and Srilanka etc. Young girls were among the eight finalists and both getting 5th positions in their respective events of Air Rifle and Air Pistol.
 
Lt. Gen. (Retd) Syed Arif Hasan, President Pakistan Olympic Association has praised the brilliant performance of young shooters and hoped that the experience gained from these games would definitely help in their future endeavors. He also appreciated the efforts of Pakistan Shooting Federation for young shooters. |
