Dear Media Friends,
It is informed that first meeting of the stakeholders regarding 13th South Asian Games Kathmandu, Nepal 09-18 March, 2019 was held on 11th October 2018 at 1230 hours at Olympic House Lahore under the chairmanship of Lt Gen (R) Syed Arif Hasan, President POA to discuss preparation plan for participation of Pakistan Contingent in the 13th South Asian Games 2019. Mr. Mansoor Ahmed Khan, Deputy Director General, Pakistan Sports Board and representatives of 15 National Sports Federations attended this meeting. The concerned National Sports Federations present in the meeting presented their PowerPoint presentations on the following points which were demonstrated on multimedia project:-
1- Selection criteria of athletes
2- Strength of athletes which must be rational keeping in view their ranking in Asia
3- Induction of Foreign Coaches
4- Induction of Local Coaches
5- Domestic training
6- Training abroad for potential athletes / teams
7- Expected performance in the 13th South Asian Games
The President Pakistan Olympic Association emphasized in the meeting that competition of 13th South Asian Games 2019 will be very tough as the other South Asian Countries have already started their training for the Games and we have to work very hard.
The federations have been advised to submit detailed “Road Map” for both the local and foreign training indicating the competition/championships in line. Further a list of required foreign coaches and equipment etc.
May also be submitted to PSB for favourable consideration please.
