IOC Executive Board meetings in St Petersburg, 29 to 31 May 2013 – Information for the Media

The IOC Executive Board (EB) will meet in St Petersburg, Russia from 29 to 31 May, at the same time as the SportAccord Convention.

During the three days, the EB will meet with the Summer Olympic International Federations (ASOIF) and the International Olympic Winter Sports Federations (AIOWF). It will hear reports on the IOC’s latest activities and receive updates on preparations for the forthcoming Olympic GamesSochi 2014Rio de Janeiro 2016and PyeongChang 2018.

On Wednesday 29 May, the eight candidate sports (baseball/softball, karate, roller sports, sport climbing, squash, wakeboarding, wrestling and wushu) vying for possible inclusion as an additional sport on the 2020 and 2024 Olympic Programme will present to the EB. The EB will then decide which of the eight sports to recommend to the 125th IOC Session for inclusion.

The Press Working Room will be set up at the Lenexpo Exhibition Complex with all the necessary facilities, including high-speed internet lines.

Conference calls on 29 and 31 May:
Media representatives who will not be in St. Petersburg will be able to listen LIVE to the press briefing at 8.30 p.m. local time on 29 May (6.30 p.m. CET) and the IOC President's press conference at 2 p.m. local time (12 p.m. CET) on 31 May.
