Asad I A Khan’s mother laid to rest

KARACHI: Ayesha Ikram Khan, mother of veteran golfer and architect Asad I A Khan, was laid to rest here at a local graveyard on Saturday. She was 87.

A large number of relatives and friends attended her funeral held at Masjid-e-Tooba. Her soyem will be held here at her family residence in Khayaban-e-Mujahid, DHA Phase V, on Sunday (today).

Ayesha, who passed away peacefully on Friday, was wife of the late I A Khan, former chairman of Pakistan’s cricket board as well as Wapda. She was sister of Fazle Ahmed Karim Fazli. Her son, Asad, is managing director of Nespak. In Pakistan’s sporting circles, he is known as a popular golf player and official and is currently serving as vice-president of Sindh Golf Association. Arshad, her younger son, is captain of the Arabian Sea Country Club.
