KARACHI: Pakistan juniors goalkeeping coach Olympian Ahmed Alam has said Pakistan were unlucky to lose the final of the 7th Junior Hockey Asia Cup.

“We were disappointed, but we achieved the objective, which was to qualify for the next year’s Junior World Cup,” he told APP on his return from Maleka (Malaysia) on Wednesday. “We dominated most of the match. But poor umpiring helped them win the title,” he said.

Umar Bhutta led Pakistan team which went down 1-2 to Malaysia in the final. “Overall Pakistan team played decent hockey and deserved to win. But a couple of poor decisions caused the damage,” he said.
