KARACHI: The annual awards ceremony of Tai Karate Centre for the year 2011 will be held at its international headquarters, at the KGA Gymkhana on December 29.

Grand Master Mohammad Ashraf Tai, who founded the centre four decades ago, informed ‘The News’ on Friday that the outstanding performers of the year in various categories will be recognised in the upcoming awards ceremony.

He disclosed that the ceremony would be presided over by Jahangir Moghul, Member Managing Committee Karachi Gymkhana, who has headed the Sports Committee of the club for years.

“The centre takes pride in the performance of its students. We are more than glad to watch them progress. Nothing is more heartening than the accomplishments of our trainees who take their lessons seriously and keep graduating to the next level,” Tai said. He also revealed that there were plans to hold the 40th anniversary celebrations of the centre, which has branches in many other countries, in a befitting manner early next year.
