KARACHI: PIA and WAPDA defeated Army and SSGC, respectively, with the same score of 2-1 in the semifinals of 59th National Hockey Championship at Hockey Club of Pakistan Stadium on Friday.
Muhammad Irfan put PIA ahead in 14th minute, but Muhammad Rizwan managed to level arrears in 46th minute for Army. Shafqat Rasool scored the decisive goal in 59th minute to take second-placed PIA to the final.
In the other semifinal, SSGC took the lead against top-placed WAPDA in 16th minute through Shabbir Ahmed Khan, but WAPDA produced an equaliser in 17th minute through skipper Mohammad Imran. Aleem Bilal scored the winning goal in 20th minute. |
