KARACHI: Pakistan Under-19 football team gave tough time to the national senior team in a friendly match at the City Sports Complex Lahore on Monday as the match ended without a goal being scored.

It was a tight match with both sides offering tough resistance to each other. In the first half, Pakistan senior team put pressure on the younger side, but two super saves by their keeper Saqib Hanif ensured there was no lead for the seniors.

In the dying moments of the first half, Pakistan Under-19 created a couple of chances, but those were foiled by the defenders of the opponents, Samar Ishaq and Kamran. After the interval, Pakistan under-19 prevailed, but they failed to score a goal. The second match between the two teams will be held on Wednesday (tomorrow).

Pakistan Under-19 team is preparing for the National Challenge Cup, while Pakistan senior team is training under Serbian coach Zavisa at the Punjab Stadium these days. Although there is no international event, the camp has been organised to work on the technical, psychological and other aspects of the team.
