Hyderabad Win Judo Competition Back To Main

KARACHI: Hyderabad, with an aggregate of 50 points, clinched the All Sindh Quaid-e-Azam SSB Judo Championship 2011, which concluded here at the Sindh Sports Board Sports Complex (SSB) the other day.

Karachi claimed the runners-up slot with 40 points and Sukkur stood third with 20 points. Hyderabad completed the double by also winning the Juniors trophy. Hosts Karachi had the consolation of winning the women competition.

The districts of Karachi, Hyderabad, Sukkar, Mirpurkhas, Larkana and Nawabshah participated in 10 weight categories of 45, 48, 50, 52, 56, 57, 60, 66 and 73 kilograms and open weight. Sindh Sports Minister Dr Mohammad Ali Shah distributed prizes among the winning teams.

Hyderabad secured the juniors title by accumulating 25 points. Sukkur (20) and Karachi (10) finished second and third, respectively. Karachi annexed the women crown with a tally of 50 points. Hyderabad (30) and Sukkur (20) claimed second and third positions, respectively.
