Young Judoka Laid To Rest Back To Main

KARACHI: International judoka Pervez Khan was laid to rest in Charsadda (Khyber Pakhtunkhwa) on Thursday with full military protocol.He had been injured in a road accident on Wednesday. He died late in the night. He was 23. He had won a silver medal in the -100kg in the South Asian Judo Championship in Islamabad last year. Pervez who belonged to Army had represented Pakistan in the World Championships in France four months ago. “It is a great loss for Pakistan’s judo,” Pakistan Judo Federation (PJF) secretary Masood Ahmad told ‘The News’ after the funeral prayers of the athlete on Thursday. “After a long time, we had got a fine player in the -100kg,” Masood said. The deceased was ranked 152nd in the world.
