AWARD OF CASH INCENTIVE TO PAKISTAN SQUASH TEAM Back To Main

Islamabad 30 July, 2012: Chief of the Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Tahir Rafique Butt, President Pakistan Squash Federation, awarded cash prizes to Pakistan squash team on winning Silver Medal during the  Mens’ World Junior (Individual & Team) Squash Championship, held at Doha (Qatar) between 07 – 18 July, 2012. Pakistan squash contingent comprising Mr Danish Atlas, Nasir Iqbal, Hamza Bukhari, Tayyab Bukhari and Ali Bukhari accompanied by Mr Jamshed Gul and Wg Cdr Abdul Wahab Marwat as coach and  manager, participated in the said Championship, 2012. 

In the Individual Event, world ranking junior players from 30 countries including Egypt, England, Canada, Japan, Malaysia, India and Hong Kong participated. Mr Danish Atlas played semi final and won Bronze Medal.  Whereas in the Team Event, a group of 23 teams from all over the world participated. Pakistan team defeated South Africa, Newzealand and Iraq in the initial pool matches, Japan in the Quarter Finals and England in the Semi Finals.  On 18 July, 2012 Pakistan team played the Final against Egypt and won Silver Medal.  

The President, Pakistan Squash Federation, highly  appreciated the performance of players in the World Junior Squash Championship and expected that they would continue putting in more efforts for bringing laurels for the country in the future, as well.
