15 year old Pakistani swimmer Anum Banday in London 2012 Olympics Back To Main

15 year old Pakistani swimmer Anum Banday was awarded an invitational wild card entry by FINA /IOC to participate in this year's London Olympics.
 
Anum who lives and trains in London has represented Pakistan on several occasions and is the holder of two National Open Swimming records in the 200m breaststroke and the 400m I M
.
Anum participated in the 400 m I M at the London Olympics and broke her own record in the 400 m I M.  She had broken Kiran Khan's record in the 400-IM at the Shanghai FINA World Championships last year. These championships were the qualifying round for the London 2012 Olympics. She thus became the Pakistan record holder for this event with a time of 5:37.11.This morning she smashed her own Pakistan record by almost 3 seconds with a new time of 5:34.64.

Anum Banday hopes that she will dominate the upcoming National Women's Swimming Championship that is to be held in Pakistan later this year in the breaststroke, I M and freestyle events.
