Essa Laboratory lift men’s, women’s table tennis titles Back To Main

KARACHI: Essa Laboratory lifted both men’s and women’s team titles after beating Islamia Club in the finals of the Karachi Table Tennis Championship here at the Islamia Club on Friday. In the men’s finals, Essa Laboratory prevailed over Islamia Club 3-1. In the women’s finals, Essa Laboratory outgunned Islamia Club 3-1.

In the men’s finals, Mohsin Raza won both his matches for Essa Laboratory, while Atta Abbas won the third match for them. For Islamia Club, Kamran Sarang won the only game against Nadir Sohail of Essa Laboratory.

In the women’s team event finals, international Maleeha Khursheed won both her matches for Essa Laboratory. She was also part of her team’s win in the doubles game with her partner Maryam when they defeated the pair of Tayyaba Suleman and Farah Ilyas with 3-1 screline. Islamia Club won their only match through Farah Ilyas who beat Maryam.

Meanwhile, Farah Ilyas from Islamia Club defeated Abeera Ali from Sindh Sports Board 3-2 to lift the junior girls singles under-18 final. In the girls singles final under-15, Nimra Baig from Jamia Millia School stunned Ruhma Gul from Islamia Club 3-0.
