PAKISTAN OLYMPIC ASSOCIATION AND BEACONHOUSE SCHOOL SYSTEM FORM PARTNERSHIP TO ADVANCE OLYMPIC VALUES IN EDUCATION

Lahore — The Pakistan Olympic Association (POA) and Beaconhouse School System (BSS) have entered into a landmark partnership to integrate the Olympic Values Education Programme (OVEP) into the learning experience of students, bringing the principles of excellence, respect, and friendship into classrooms and sports fields across Pakistan. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed at the Pakistan Olympic House by Mr. Arif Saeed, President POA, and Mr. Kasim Kasuri, CEO BSS, in the presence of senior officials from both organizations. This collaboration reflects a shared belief in the educational value of sport and a joint commitment to preparing young people for leadership, teamwork, and responsible citizenship. Under the agreement, BSS will work closely with POA to: · Embed Olympic values into academic and co-curricular programmes · Establish student-led Olympism Clubs to promote community service and sportsmanship · Enhance school sports through POA technical expertise · Connect students with national and international athletes for mentorship · Create opportunities for youth participation at prominent sports events “Sport is one of the most powerful tools for shaping character and values,” said Mr. Arif Saeed. “Through this partnership, we aim to help young people discover the life lessons that sport can teach.” Mr. Kasim Kasuri noted, “Beaconhouse has always believed in the transformative power of education. By working with the POA, we can give our students experiences that extend beyond academics, helping them grow as confident, principled, and globally minded individuals.” The ceremony was attended by Mr. Muhammad Khalid Mahmood, Secretary General POA, and Mr. Muhammad Jahangir Deputy Secretary POA, alongside BSS leaders Mr. Ali Ahmed Khan, COO, Mr. Majid Ali Qureshi, Regional Director, Mrs. Fareeha Ahmad, Director Education Development, Mrs. Iram Naqvi, General Manager Student Wellbeing. Mrs. Tania Mallick, Senior Manager Sports & Athletes Development, BSS / Secretary, POA Education Commission, was also present at the meeting, and her pivotal role in facilitating the collaboration between POA and BSS leading to the development of this MOU was duly acknowledged and appreciated. This partnership strengthens Beaconhouse’s role as a leader in values-based education and opens the door for POA to extend similar initiatives to other educational institutions, ensuring that more young people across Pakistan benefit from the character-building power of sport.
