Welcome to the Punjab Olympic Association

The Punjab Olympic Association (PbOA) got affiliated with the Pakistan Olympic Association (POA) in 1948. Its main task is to promote and develop sports in the province. The Association undertakes its activities as per its Constitution. The Association is responsible to organize Inter Provincial Games / Championships and biennial National Games as and when allotted by the POA.

Punjab Olympic Association has staged the National Games in 1950, 1952, 1954, 1956, 1962, 1966, 1972, 1978, 1984, 1992 and 2000. Punjab Olympic Association holds the honour of being winner of the 1^st Pakistan National Games that were held in Karachi in 1948.

32^nd National Games have been allotted to the Punjab Olympic Association which will be held from 21^st to 27^th October 2012 in Lahore.

Mission Page

The mission of the Punjab Olympic Association (Pb. OA) is to develop and protect the Olympic Movement in the Province of Punjab in accordance with the Constitution of POA. In order to full its mission, the Punjab Olympic Association may cooperate with Governmental and Non-Governmental bodies. However, it will never associate itself with any activity, which will be in contradiction to the Olympic Charter.

To foster and develop Olympism, the Olympic Movement along with its high ideals and ensure observance of the Constitution of Pakistan Olympic Association (POA).
To encourage, promote, control and assist in the development of sports in the Province of Punjab.
To instill in the youth the qualities and discipline, courage, self-reliance, honesty, tolerance and likewise virtues.
To hold the National Games or any other Games as and when required.
To affiliate Associations and Departmental Organizations.
To arrange and encourage systematic training of Sports Persons. Coaches and Sports Administrators in the Province of Punjab and to assist them for further training within the country and abroad.
To communicate with Provincial Sports Bodies, National Federation, Pakistan Olympic Association and Governmental Bodies when required.
To exercise the exclusive powers for the representation of the Province of Punjab in the sports events and programs within and outside Pakistan.
To take action to adopt and implement the World Anti-Doping Codes and respect all the rules and responsibilities those are listed within the World Anti-Doping code.
To encourage resolution of all disputes in sports through arbitration.
To take disciplinary action against any Member Unit for misbehavior of its athletes, officials for any undesirable activity, bringing discredit to the Province of Punjab, country and sports or violating the Olympic Charter.
To raise funds and seek source of financing for carrying out the functions of Punjab Olympic Association, however, ensuring that its autonomy, dignity and independence in accordance with the IOC Olympic Charter shall not be compromised.
To do all acts and things necessary and proper to carry out the aims and objects of the Punjab Olympic Association.
