Welcome to the Pakistan Boxing Federation

Pakistan Boxing Federation (PBF) is the national governing body of sport of Boxing in the Country. PBF is the member organization of International Amateur Boxing Federation (A.I.B.A), and Federation of Asian Amateur Boxing (FAAB).

The history of Boxing in Pakistan is as old as the history of Pakistan itself. In 1948, the first National Boxing Championship was held at Karachi. Boxing is among the very few sports, in which Pakistan has made slow but steady progress. Pakistani boxers have been winning honors in the Asian Games and Asian Boxing Championships ever since they started taking part in these events.

PBF has been able to conduct two International Boxing Tournaments in Pakistan.

Achievements

Commonwealth Games 1970, Edinburgh, Scotland. Samad Mir won the Bronze medal.
10^th SA Games, Colombo, Sri Lanka, won five Gold and three Silver medals.

Mission

The mission of the Pakistan Boxing Federation is to promote and develop the sport of boxing in Pakistan in accordance with the rules of the International Amateur Boxing Federation (A.I.B.A)

Pakistan Boxing Federation

To promote and foster true amateur spirit and friendly rivalry among the affiliated associations in the sport of boxing.

To maintain general control of boxing in Pakistan particularly with reference to the rules and regulations for the conduct of the game.
To promote the formation of affiliated organizations.
To coordinate activities in respect of boxing in all ways including the holding of Tournaments and organizing national and international competitions under the rules of A.I.B.A.
To collect funds for the Federation and employ the same in a manner which is considered desirable for the objectives of the Federation.
To select teams and officials to represent Pakistan, and to promote and control visits by such teams and officials abroad for training / competitions.
To promote and control the visits of foreign teams. to Pakistan.
To undertake all such acts which are convenient/ or conducive to carry out the objectives of the Federation.
To standardize and control Referring/ Judging though the Pakistan Amateur Boxing Referring/Judging Boars.
To act as the channel of communication between the member organizations, POA, AIBA and FAAB.
To certify to the POA and international boxing organizations the amateur status of the Pakistan representatives for all amateur national and international boxing competition.
To promote mutual respect among affiliated associations in their relations and the reciprocal recognition of penalties and suspensions.
To purchase, take lease of, or hire or acquire any moveable or immoveable property or rights necessary or convenient for the purpose of Pakistan Federation.
