Welcome to the Pakistan Gymnastics Federation

Pakistan Gymnastics Federation is the national governing body of sport of Gymnastics in the Country. The Federation is affiliated with the Federation Internationale de Gymnastique (FIG), Asian Gymnastics Union (AGU) and Pakistan Olympic Association (POA).

At the time of independence, Lahore was the only the main Centre of gymnastics. In the early days, with the sincere efforts of M/S Abdul Latif Khokhar, M. Sadiq Shaikh, Chaudhry Mansha Minhas, Amin Butt, Manzoor Jafary, Shuja-U-din Qureshi, Habibur Rehman Khan, Ahmad Ali, Muhammad Parvez Saleemi and others, this sport was kept alive in the Country.

Prominent Gymnasts include Muhammad Farooq, Khalid Rathor, Saulat Ali, Nazar Muhammad, from Punjab and Khalid Mehmood, Tauqeer, Syed Saifuddin and Akbar Shah from Pakistan Army and Hamid Mehmood, Azhar Irfan. M.Nadeem, Abdul Qadoos, M.Afzal, Khurram Shahzad and M.Yasir from Wapda and Abdullah Jan and Mudassar Rafiq from Police, Humayoun and Musharaf from Sindh played a significant role in the uplift of gymnastics with their hard work and dedication.

Regular National Gymnastics Championships of Juniors and Seniors are being conducted by the Federation. Besides the Federation has a number National Judges on its panel who are well conversant with the FIG Code of Point and experience of handling national level competitions. Furthermore there are number of qualified coaches on its poo who have passed coaching courses organized by Olympic Solidarity Commission, under International Olympic Committee (IOC) and AGU coaching training camps held in Pakistan and abroad.

Mission Page

The mission of the Pakistan Gymnastics Federation is to promote, and develop the sport of gymnastics for positive youth engagement and their encouragement in Pakistan in accordance with the Federation Internationale de Gymnastique (FIG) rules.

Pakistan Gymnastics Federation

  1. To encourage, promote, assist and regulate the development of Gymnastics.
  2. To organize gymnastic competitions and National championships each year and authorize the affiliated units for holding the same in rotation.
  3. To cause the formation of Regional Organizations and affiliate them.
  4. To arrange, assist, finance (if required) and encourage, systematic training of Gymnastic though coaching in and outside Pakistan.
  5. To arrange and finance Pakistan team’s participation in international championships and other tournaments.
  6. To enforce Anti- Doping Code of FIG, WADA, NOC Pakistan and educate against doping.
  7. To promote youth development programs at grass root level.
  8. To certify the amateur status of Pakistan Gymnastics where ever required.
  9. To raise funds for carrying out the aforesaid objectives of the Federation.
  10. To help in formation of regional organizations and to organize international championships.
  11. To get affiliation with FIG, AGU, POA, PSB and other regional organizations.
  12. To support the Olympic movement and honor the Olympic charter

International Achievements/ Participation

  • Pakistan participated first time in the First Asian (GANEFO) in Cambodia in 1966 and obtained fourth position.
  • Pakistan Gymnastics team participated in the 1st Indo-Pak Punjab Games, December, 2004 held in Patiala, India and won two Gold, four Silver and Seven Bronze medals.
  • Syed Saifuddin Gymnast and Parvaiz Ahmad represented Pakistan in Common Wealth Games held in 2006 at Montreal, Australia.
  • Ghulam Qadir gymnast and M.Aqeel Asghar represented the country in Commonwealth Games, Glasgow 2014.
  • Muhammad Afzal, Muhammad Yasir and Parvaiz Ahmad represented Pakistan in Asian Games, Incheon Korea 2014.
  • Shahjahan Barkat, Bakhtawar (Sr Gymnasts) Ahmad, Faizan (under 16 years) and Pavaiz Ahmad participated in Central South Asian Championship held in October 2021, Dhaka, Bangladesh.
  • Nazar Muhammad and Muhammad Yasin Coach attended Parkour training camp of coaches held in 14-20 November, 2021 at Qatar.
  • Muhammad Nadeem attended FIG level 2 Academy for Artistic Gymnastics coaches held in Philipine 21-26 August, 2022 and also attended Basic Coaching Course of Gymnastics held in December in Kuwait.
  • Muhammad Afzal and Parvaiz Ahmad represented Pakistan in CommonWealth Games 28 July to 8 August 2022 held in Birmingham, UK.
  • Muhammad Afzal, Shahjahan Barkat, Muhammad Sohail (Gymnasts), Muhammad Shahbaz and Muhammad Nadeem represented Pakistan in Islamic Games held in August 2022 Konya, Turkey.
  • Ms Saman of Lahore and Ms Khadija from Karachi attended the Women Artistic Gymnastics coaching training camp 11-15 October, 2022 in Dhaka, Bangladesh.
