The OCA sponsored Technical Course for Coaches allocated by Pakistan Olympic Association to Pakistan Kabaddi Federation was held from 03 to 08 January, 2018. Initially the course was held at the Conference Room of Sports Board Punjab in the National Hockey Stadium and the closing ceremony was organized at Olympic House Lahore. The main purpose of the course was to develop the knowledge, skill and competence of the infield Kabaddi Coaches and develop a hierarchy of trained and accomplished coaches for the training of athletes on the modern scientific lines for achieving excellence in the International arena.
The Asian Kabaddi Federation nominated Mr. Muhammad Sarwar, Secretary General Asian Kabaddi Federation and Pakistan Kabaddi Federation, a qualified expert, to tutor the course. In all 38 x coaches with the split of 30 male and 08 female from all over the country affiliated to Pakistan Kabaddi Federation participated in this course. In order to make the course more purposeful and beneficial Mr. Badsha Gul, International Referee of Kabaddi, Dr. Asad Abbas, Physio and Sports Medicine Expert, Muhammad Khalid Mahmood, Secretary General POA and Mian Muhammad Rafiq, Director Coordination POA also delivered lectures to add to the knowledge of the participants.
Mr. Muhammad Sarwar, Secretary General, Pakistan Kabaddi Federation expressed his deep gratitude for Lt Gen (R) Syed Arif Hasan HI(M), President POA for providing this opportunity to Pakistan Kabaddi Federation that has really helped them to learn new things to implement.
The closing ceremony was presided over the Lt Gen (R) Syed Arif Hasan, President Pakistan Olympic Association. Before his presidential words he ascertained views of the participants whether it was beneficial and useful for them. All of them praised this initiative and expressed that they learned a lot to apply in turn. In his address to the participants the President POA advised them to prepare and train themselves on the sound footings taking guidance from scientific knowledge. He was confident that the coaches with the knowledge acquired during the course would do their best to help athletes develop themselves physically and mentally tough enough to overcome the opponent, no matter how strong they are. He desired that efforts be made to produce results after attending this course. Finally he congregated all those who qualified and distributed certificates among them.
