Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF) is the national governing body to develop and promote the sport of Tennis in the Country. PTF is affiliated with the International Tennis Federation (ITF) and Asian Tennis Federation (ATF).
Just after the independence in 1947, an association by the name of “All Pakistan Lawn Tennis Association” was formed to develop and promote the sport of Tennis. In May 1948, a Pakistani team comprising of Mr. Iftikhar Ahmed and Mr. Mehmood Alam played its first Davis Cup competition against Switzerland. Later on, name of the said Association was changed to the “Pakistan Tennis Federation”.
First Pakistani who represented Pakistan in the “Grand Slam, Wimbledon”, the “US Open” and the “French Open” was Khawaja Saeed Hai. At the moment, Mr. Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi is an icon of Tennis who created history by reaching in the finals of 2010 US Open – Men's Doubles and 2010 US Open – Mixed Doubles.
Presently, Syed Kaleem Imam and Mr. Mumtaz Yousaf is the President and the General Secretary of the PTF respectively.
