Press Release- IOC Olympic Solidarity Seminar On Sports Medicine And Protection Of Clean Athletes Back To Main

You will be pleased to note that Pakistan Olympic Association, under the auspice of IOC Olympic Solidarity Commission, has organsied the subject seminar to educate the athletes, coaches and other key officials taking part in the forthcoming 18th Asian Games, Jakarta.

Lt. Gen (R) Syed Arif Hasan, President Pakistan Olympic Association inaugurated the seminar in the presence of a large number of athletes, coaches, officials and media friends. He enlightened audience about the significance of the seminar for the protection of clean athletes and particularly saving the contingent from any unwanted situation that we may face due to lack of awareness. He advised the NSFs to highlight policies for instance NO NEEDLE Policy and Whereabouts of Athletes for better understanding of athletes and coaches. He was confident that the seminar will secure its intended objectives as the POA Medical Commission under its Chair, Dr. Waqar Ahmad is composed of competent medical consultants who are well known for their work in the field of sports science. He particularly thanked the athletes and coaches for turning up in such a large number on the occasion of this important seminar.

Mr. Muhammad Khalid Mahmood, Secretary General, POA welcomed all the participants for this important course and assured the audience that POA will do its utmost for the elevation of sports standards by educating and updating the athletes and coaches in respective fields. Dr. Asad Abbass, on behalf of the Medical Commission applauded the efforts of POA under the leadership of Lt. Gen (R) Syed Arif Hasan for making the seminar a success.

The event was also attended by a senior delegation of Pakistan Sports Board including Mr. Mansoor and Mr. Azam Dar. Both of the senior officials assured the audience of the full support by the Pakistan Sports Board.

On this occasion, Mr. Muhammad INAM, Chairman POA Athletes Commission appreciated and thanked POA for organizing this informative seminar specially before leaving for the Asian Games.

The POA Medical Commission enlightened the coaches and athletes on following important aspects today and the seminar will conclude tomorrow.
