Statement on solidarity with Ukraine, sanctions against Russia and Belarus, and the status of athletes from these countries Back To Main

Dear NOC Presidents, Secretaries General,

Thank you very much for your participation and valuable contributions in the NOC consultation call last week. Similar consultation calls were held with the IOC Members, the athletes’ representatives and the International Federations and these were followed by an IOC Executive Board meeting that took place today.

We are pleased to share with you the report of the IOC Executive Board which outlines a summary of the consultation calls and provides a statement on solidarity with Ukraine, sanctions against Russia and Belarus, and the status of athletes from these countries.

We strongly encourage you to share the report of the IOC Executive Board with your highest Government authorities and explain to them in detail the Olympic Movement’s position on this delicate matter.

It would also be greatly appreciated it your NOC could provide a public statement showing your support of the unifying mission of the Olympic Movement and sharing this report with your Olympic community and the wider public.
