Lahore College for Women University (LCWU) proudly hosted the Olympic Day Celebration 2023 in collaboration with the Pakistan Olympic Association (POA). The event brought together dignitaries, Olympians, national heroes, international athletes, and LCWU's esteemed faculty to commemorate this special occasion. Tree planting activities were conducted, symbolizing a commitment to environmental sustainability.
Under the theme "Plant – Preserve - Plant," the Olympic Day Celebration 2023 highlighted the POA's dedication to combat climate change and promote environmental sustainability in alignment with the Olympic Agenda 2020+5. This initiative reflects the ongoing "Plant – Preserve - Plant" program by the POA, encouraging tree plantation drives across Pakistan.
Prof. Dr. Bushra Mirza T.I., Vice Chancellor of LCWU, expressed delight in hosting the event and emphasized the significance of Olympic Day, celebrating sports, physical activities, and environmental conservation.
Dignitaries present included the Olympic Family, Olympians, national heroes, international athletes, and LCWU's faculty. Their participation showcased support for the Olympic Movement and inspiring others through sports.
Secretary General of NOC Pakistan highlighted that the tree plantation drive at LCWU exemplifies the POA's dedication to Olympic values. Such events aim to encourage sports engagement, unity, and overall well-being within the community.
The celebrations of Olympic Day 2023 will continue throughout the week, with the POA collaborating with educational institutions to promote Olympic Values across communities.
