Last Activity of Olympic Day 2023 Celebrated with Great Enthusiasm at DHA Sports Complex Lahore Back To Main

The final event of Olympic Day 2023 took place on June 24, 2023, at the DHA Phase VI, Lahore. The Olympic Day Run, which commenced from the DHA Lahore Main Office, culminated at the prestigious Captain Fasih Babar Amin Shaheed Sports Complex, Phase-VI, DHA Lahore, attracting athletes from various sports disciplines, civil society members, families, and children who participated with great zeal. Olympians M/s Mr. Manzoor ul Hasan Sr., Col (R) Mudassar Asghar, Col (R) Muhammad Saeed Khan, Chaudhry Akhtar Rasool,  Dr. Tariq Aziz and Mr. Touqeer Dar also participated in the Olympic Day Run.  

At the conclusion of the walk, a grand ceremony was held at the Captain Fasih Babar Amin Shaheed Sports Complex, Phase-VI, DHA Lahore, which served as a momentous occasion to honor the achievements of Pakistan's esteemed Olympians. The National Olympic Committee (NOC) Pakistan presented the distinguished Olympians with honorary shields in recognition of their exceptional contributions to the sporting world and their relentless pursuit of excellence.

Furthermore, the DHA Lahore extended its support and appreciation to the Pakistan junior hockey team for their outstanding performance in the recently held Men's Junior Asia Cup. As a gesture of acknowledgment, the team was presented with cash prizes and shields by DHA Lahore, applauding their dedication and hard work that resulted in a commendable display of skill and determination.

The Chief Guest of the ceremony, Lt Gen Syed Aamer Reza HI(M), Corps Commander Lahore  acknowledging the significant role of NOC Pakistan in driving the Olympic Movement in Pakistan, commended their efforts in fostering a culture of sports excellence. He reiterated DHA Lahore's commitment to the betterment of sports, emphasizing their dedication not only to athletic achievements but also to community development and engagement.

Among the many remarkable moments, the Video Message of Mr. Thomas Bach for the Olympic Day 2023 was presented to audiences. Short videos featuring glimpse into the incredible achievements and memorable moments of Olympic Day 2022 of National Olympic Committee (NOC) Pakistan and the International Olympic Committee (IOC) were also presented, captivating the audience and amplifying the spirit of Olympism.

To celebrate the cultural diversity that the International Olympic Committee (IOC) advocates, a captivating cultural performance was organized in line with the IOC's vision. The event showcased various artistic expressions and cultural traditions, further emphasizing the power of sport to transcend boundaries and unite people from different backgrounds.

During the ceremony, the Secretary General of NOC Pakistan expressed heartfelt gratitude to all the participants for their unwavering support and active participation in Olympic Day 2023. He extended special appreciation to DHA Lahore for their steadfast commitment to athletes and the advancement of national sports. Their support has been instrumental in nurturing the talents of Pakistani athletes and promoting the Olympic Movement throughout the country.
