Press Release – Olympic Day 2024 at Lahore College for Women University, Lahore Back To Main

Lahore, June 23, 2024 – Pakistan Olympic Association (POA) in Collaboration with Lahore College for Women University (LCWU) is honoured to host the Olympic Day celebrations on June 24, 2024. This event commemorates the birth of the Modern Olympics in 1894 by Baron Pierre de Coubertin, the visionary who recognized the educational values of sports, now celebrated as Olympic Values.

Olympic Day celebrated worldwide on June 23rd, is a tribute to the Modern Olympics’ legacy and its core values of excellence, friendship, and respect. This day encourages people of all ages and abilities to participate in various sporting and cultural activities, promoting a healthy and active lifestyle. On this year’s Olympic Day celebrations, POA will organize a Olympic walk, plantation, and Quiz for Athletes and students.

This event will be attended by former Olympians, international Medallists/Athletes, and Athletes preparing for the Paris Games. Esteemed faculty, athletes, students of LCWU, Presidents and Secretary Generals of POA/ National Sports Federations, and members of the POA Executive Committee will join the celebration, fostering a spirit of unity and Olympism within our community in the Olympic year of Paris 2024.
