KARACHI: Balochistan’s Safiullah will be taking part in the 19th Asian Junior Individual Championship to be held from June 19-23 in Kish Island, Iran.
President Balochistan Squash Association (BSA) Sher Ali Kakar said that Safi was a talented player and they expected him to perform well at the championship.
The president added they had decided not to restrict their tournaments to the players of Balochistan. “We have decided to keep our Balochistan Police and Frontier Corps Balochistan Championships open for the players from all over the country because of the prize money offered in both the events,” he said.
The Police championship has Rs100,000 as prize money, while Rs200,000 will be up for grabs at the FC championship. “This is the third Balochistan Police Championship, to be held in June and July. The past two events were restricted to the players from Balochistan,” said the president.
He further said that they also planned to hold a national junior event in August for more than 150 players with the prize money of Rs300,000.
The president BSA said that they were to start a camp for some 80 players in the end of June for two to three months.
