Aisam-Rojer win in Paris Back To Main

KARACHI: Pakistan’s Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi and his partner Rojer Jean-Julien defeated French pair Nicolas Renavand and Jonathan Dasnieres De Veigy in their men’s doubles opening round match at the French Open in Paris on Wednesday.

Aisam-Rojer defeated Nicolas-Jonathan 6-3, 6-2 to reach the second round of the grand slam tournament.

This is Aisam’s fourth appearance in this tournament and his last chance to earn enough points to get a berth at the London Olympics set to begin on July 27.

The French duo Nicolas Renavand and Jonathan Dasnieres De Veigy are 139th and 490th in doubles individual ranking, respectively. The former has appeared in the French Open before, but this is the first time the latter is playing this prestigious tournament.
