KARACHI: Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi and his Dutch partner Rojer Jean Julien won their match in the round of 16 of men’s doubles of the Unicef Open, Netherlands, on Tuesday.
The duo defeated the Columbian pair of Santiago Girlado (ranked 243rd) and Alejandro Falla (374th) 7-6, 6-2.
On Wednesday (today) the duo is to face the German pair of Benjamin Becker, ranked 259th, and Philipp Petzschner, ranked 18th, in the quarter-final.
Aisam and Rojer are playing this ATP 250 tournament at grass courts after recently winning Halle Open in Germany.
Playing this tournament will help the duo have enough practice before appearing in Wimbledon — another grass-court stop.
Aisam is ranked 12th in individual doubles ranking. He is currently hoping for a wild card entry to book a berth at Olympics.
