KARACHI: The Inter-Provincial Games, which were scheduled to be held in July in Quetta, have been postponed due to security concerns, a top official of the Balochistan Olympic Association (BOA) said on Sunday.
“The games have been postponed due to fragile security situation in Quetta,” BOA secretary Afzal Awan told ‘The News’.
He said that new dates would be announced by the Pakistan Olympic Association.
He said that BOA had asked the home department to give the organising committee clearance for conducting the event. Awan said it could not be said when the event would be possible due to precarious law and order situation in the province. However, he said that effort would be made to stage it in September.
