The International Day for Sports Development and Peace is celebrated every year on 6th April to highlight how sports can promote social development, help unite people, encourage a culture of peace, build trust and self belief and establish bridges between groups in conflict.
Pakistan Olympic Association managed to organize competitions in Archery, Badminton, Gymnastics, E-Sports, Karate, Tug of War, Wrestling and Weightlifting in collaboration with KP Olympic Association and FATA Olympic Association on 6th April, 2017.
Syed Aqil Shah, President KP Olympic Association, Vice President POA, Ex- Sports Minister of KP with his team did organize the competitions in a very benefitting manner, providing thrill, excitement, recreation and pleasurable interaction with each other to the viewers.
Finally on his request White Cards were raised to symbolize Peace. He also distributed certificates and Souvenirs among the competitors and the organizers.
Director National Training and Coaching Centre Peshawar Mr. Mumtaz Ahmad Nadeem and Office Bearers of Provincial Sports Associations and Media personal of KP and FATA were in attendee in large number.
POA greatly appreciate the efforts of Syed Aqil Shah and his team for successfully accomplishing the tasks assigned to them.
