Seminar for Athletes and Officials Participating in the 19th Asian Games Hangzhou Back To Main

Pakistan Olympic Association (POA) concluded today its two-day Educational Seminar at Mayo Gardens Club, Pakistan Railways in Lahore. The seminar gathered 60 in-person attendees and 50 via Zoom, including athletes and coaches selected to represent Pakistan at the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou, China, alongside officials from National Federations and sports organizations and their athletes and coaches.

Three expert speakers delivered the necessary awareness:

  • Mr. Muhammad Atif Shafiq presented the "Prevention of Manipulation of Competition," focusing on safeguarding sports integrity.
  • Dr. Asad Abbas Shah, an IOC Certified expert in Sports Medicine, discussed "Prevention from Injuries in Sports" to ensure athlete well-being.
  • Mr. Hamdan Nazir, MEMOSIAN, emphasized "Protection from Harassment and Abuse in Sports," fostering a respectful sporting environment.


Chief Guest Mr. Shahid Aziz, CEO/Sr. General Manager of Pakistan Railways, assured athletes of support for the seminar and the dedicated athletes preparing for the 19th Asian Games. Secretary General of POA, thanked the experts and Pakistan Railway for their contributions. He shared that such seminars bridge the gap between athletes and management, and enhance sports orientation and awareness.
