KARACHI: Pakistan’s Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi and his partner Rojer Jean-Julien lost their third round match of the Wimbledon in London on Tuesday.

The duo after a tough five-set match were defeated by wildcard entrants Jonathan Marray (76th) of Great Britain and Frederik Nielsen (111st) of Denmark 6-7 (5-7), 6-7 (4-7), 7-6 (7-4), 7-5, 5-7. Aisam and Rojer, ranked 12th and 21st, respectively, had been put in great trouble by the wildcards on Monday, but when the match resumed on Tuesday, they were in good shape and won two consecutive sets with ease.

They failed to maintain the momentum in the last, though, and lost the match. The loss comes on the heels of Aisam’s failure to get a wildcard entry to the London Olympics.
