Mansha Brothers clinch table tennis title Back To Main

KARACHI: Mansha Brothers clinched the men’s team event title after they overwhelmed Karachi Municipal Corporation (KMC) by 3-1 in the final of the First PSO-Carient Inter-Firm Table Tennis tournament at the Islamia Club on Thursday night.

Khawar Mehmood put KMC ahead after beating Mohammad Tahir from Mansha Brothers in a tough battle. The score was 11-9, 12-10, 7-11, 5-11 and 11-5. However, former table tennis great Arif Nakhuda brought the parity for Mansha Brothers with a 3-1 victory over Raheel Qureshi. The score was 5-11, 11-6, 11-8 and 11-8. Mohammad Nakhuda put Mansha Brothers 2-1 ahead by beating Salim Ahmad 11-3, 8-11, 11-8, 8-11 and 11-4.

Arif Nakhuda won his second game of the fixture against Khawar Mehmood from KMC to provide a 3-1 title victory to Mansha Brothers. The score was 11-8, 11-4, 9-11 and 11-3. Asim Hussain from GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) and Raheel Qureshi from KMC blasted their way into the men’s singles final.

Asim defeated Khawar Mehmood from KMC 8-11, 11-7, 11-9 and 11-4. Raheel edged out AH Bhatti from PSO 11-8, 11-8 and 12-10 in the semifinals.
